It’s Time for Professional Societies to Be Bold and Wise 0 917

Boldness is a leadership trait to be mastered. Here are actions that make bold people admirable.

The day I went off to university, a friend gave me this quote. Over the years it has inspired me and I have seen it posted on the walls and bulletin boards of many entrepreneurs and leaders.

Bold people stand out from the group. They are confident, courageous, and directed. I believe there is boldness in most people. Given the right set of circumstances, many will take action to better the world around them.

People who choose to be bold are inspiring not just because they get big things accomplished, but because they also instigate growth, progress, and movement for themselves and others around them. Sadly, far more people wait for someone who is bold to lead the way, hoping somehow luck will shine success upon them.

Perhaps it is time to unleash the bold leader in you. Try adding these actions to your daily repertoire and see how much faster the magic of boldness takes you toward success.

01. They own their flaws and strengths. There is a difference between boldness and carelessness. Bold leaders have strong self-awareness. They know when they should take bold action and when they are out of their element. They minimize the risk for themselves and others by constantly reassessing themselves and engaging others to accommodate for personal weakness.

Want to be a bold leader?

Be more self-aware. Engage others who can complement your strengths and compensate for your weaknesses.

02. They keep clear priorities. Someone who constantly jumps into action without a plan is not bold- just foolish. Bold people know their objectives and prioritize them clearly. They can afford to be bold because they can recognize the right opportunity when it comes along.

Want to be a bold leader?

Know clearly what you need to accomplish and seek those changes that will move the team forward. Avoid unimportant activities that lead to distraction.

03. They speak up. Bold people are not necessarily loud or boisterous, but when they have something to say they say it. More importantly, they understand when and how to say it. Being bold does not equal being a bully or a loudmouth. Bold leaders must be better at tact and empathy because the very nature of their words will carry power and impact. Bold leaders also understand that silence is often the greatest statement one can make, and they use it judiciously.

Want to be a bold leader?

Say what needs to be said before the silence derails the team.

04. They pair action with knowledge. Even though bold leaders are prone to action, they are rarely considered rash. They apply the same sense of action to learning and due diligence as they do to any other activity. Bold leaders want to make sure their actions lead to success, so they investigate before leading their team to the charge.

Want to be a bold leader?

Improve your odds of success by doing your homework. You’ll increase your confidence and your success rate.

05. They accept the value of failure. No one is totally comfortable with failure, but bold leaders understand that greater rewards stem from greater risk. Still, they know how to mitigate catastrophic risk and how to protect their team. Bold leaders also know how to use risks to their advantage. They harness the energy and adrenaline and make sure that every failure is a learning opportunity.

Want to be a bold leader?

Make failure an acceptable part of your process. Teach the team how to assess and limit risk, so missteps can happen without total destruction. Then get people to learn and reboot.

06. They make the most of small wins. Many people sit and wait around for the “right opportunity” before they are willing to step up and take action. Sadly, sometimes that right opportunity never comes. Bold people understand that rarely is any situation perfect from the beginning. They look to make the most of any given set of circumstances that can lead to victory, even a small one. Cumulatively, consistent little wins spell success, attracting followers.

Want to be a bold leader?

Start with a small battle you think you can win, map out a plan, and take the field. Winning builds confidence as well as your reputation.

07. They build momentum. Bold people recognize that a single victory is not enough to sustain leadership. They work to create a series of actions that help the team gather confidence, speed, and power. They have a sense of when to add energy to drive forward and when to let the momentum itself carry things forward efficiently.

Want to be a bold leader?

Craft your plan so that each action takes advantage of the success from the last. Take advantage of any win that gains attention, respect, and popularity. Activate your fans, cultivate relationships, build buzz. Don’t coast!

“I always forget how amazing it is to be in nature until I’m actually out in the thick of it, and think to myself, ‘Oh yeah! I should probably do this more often’

I’m not a spiritual person, but it is always in the great outdoor that I’ve had the closest thing to a spiritual experience. Sitting out in the terrace between sets as the sun is rising and there’s nothing but you and the silence. Lying in the sun in the luxurious meadow with a good book or camping in the woods in the middle of nowhere, listening to the whisper of the wind and fall of the water. So much tranquility!

Life in the countryside of Sri Lanka can be a truly spellbinding experience. In this part of the country it is generally warm during the day but surprisingly quite chilly towards the evening.

Surrounded by lush greenery and a secluded mango-fringed garden fronting the Uva country side, there is an exquisite Villa located in Buttala; one of the best parts of the country for combining lazy days around the lush greenery by exploring the country’s natural wealth.

Milla Holiday Resort has the ideal facilities for a family vacation and honeymooners to experience the village life in the countryside of Sri Lanka. It is unified by the fact that it is totally unique.

Set in Monaragala, the journey towards the resort itself is quite eventful with a few elephants parked in the middle of the road waiting to be fed by motorists bypassing them the Kataragama area. When entering the village, it presented a change of nature suiting to dry weather with where more shrubs and stretches of fields laden with golden crops. It was a joyful endless sight. As far as the eye could go, we saw standing tall plants with ripe grain as we were enchanted by the whole outlook of the village.Milla - 04

Boasting a village life in the countryside, the Holiday Resort offers relaxing stays amid a landscaped garden at Milla. The name ‘Milla’ is given as the whole structure is built centering a Milla tree shielding the resort. The rooms are built with rustic wood that blends with nature and open up to a private balcony facing dense vegetation and solid trees. Split into two separate eco-friendly units, the three bedroom bungalow has a panoramic view of the acres of organic garden heavy with its growth.

The villa has a spacious lounge, dining area and a BBQ facility outside in the garden. The villa’s restaurant serves interesting twists on classic local and international dishes sourcing many ingredients from its organic garden. Guests have the experience of picking various vegetables they would like to include in the meal right before it is prepared from the organic garden. The staff here is just amazing, and is willing to cater to your every whim. A leisurely picnic lunch under a mango tree with peacocks walking about freely is an experience that should not be overlooked.

A night at Milla Resort is not going to include a bubble bath and champagne cocktails but an authentic experience of a dip in the Kumbuk Oya. Fenced by the silence and acres and acres of Kumbuk trees, the coldest water which seeps through your body will transfer you to peacefulness.

Hidden away in the Monaragala District, just about 1Km from the Milla Resort is the Maligawila Buddha Statue, the tallest free-standing Buddha Statue in Sri Lanka, at 45ft high. Carved from a single piece of limestone rock, the statue dates back to the 7th century A.D. The site also contains a rock Bodhisattva, standing at 34ft tall. The site also lays claim to the only square moonstone in the world. The surrounding jungle and pleasant walk make it that much more magical. It’s also much more off the beaten track, hence generally you will have the site all to yourself.

In this part of the country, houses are usually inhabited by entire family generations. The people living in these rural areas are generally curious over visitors and quite welcomingly take you to their homes for a cup of tea. Eating simple food in rustic surroundings has its own taste, which you would surely appreciate. During this country side trip, you will experience various aspects of village life, their feelings and emotions, how they scrape a living. It is truly fascinating to experience the simple facts of life focused on fishing, wood carving, bakery, farming, village market, village trekking, a simple herbal tea with homemade kithul jaggery, can be a heaven on earth!

Cheaters would have done it differently! 0 516

By: Savannah Audrey

Cheating is a complicated business. Sometimes, the relationship is falling apart, or one person isn’t getting his needs met, but other times, it’s not always easy to get to the bottom of what makes someone cheat. And most of the time, someone who cheats is looking for an emotional connection as much as it is a physical one.Trusting

“Cheating allows someone to escape,” Joshua Klapow, PhD, clinical psychologist and host of The Kurre and Klapow Show, tells Bustle. “They can be with a person where problems and conflicts don’t exist, where they get respite, support, and validation.” And yet, affairs aren’t always that simple.

In fact, it looks like a lot of people who have cheated wish that their affairs had gone a little differently. Ashley Madison, on the extra-marital affairs website, recently shared a survey that discovered 53 percent of cheaters wished they had approached their affairs differently. Although interestingly, the survey doesn’t look at how many people (if any) wished they hadn’t had one at all.

What do cheaters wish that they had done differently?

Well, a lot of the regrets, perhaps unsurprisingly, revolved around wishing they had put a lot more thought into their infidelity before they just jumped right in. Here’s what the survey found

They Wished They Spent More Time Seeking Out The Right Affair Partner:

It’s easy to see why you’d want to make sure it was with the right person. Not just someone who’s discreet, but someone who is going to give you whatever it is that you think you’re really looking for. Many of them wish they had put some more time in at this stage.
